We usually size our outfits by weight -
If we do not offer your dog’s size, contact us and we will gladly design a custom outfit. Send us your dog’s measurements and the color theme of the outfit you’d like, and Green Dog Designs will construct a one-of-a-kind garment especially for your dog.
If your dog gains weight, don’t worry; we have you covered. We offer a one-time alteration service for $10, and we’ll even cover the shipping costs.
We offer a 100% organic line. The fabrics are very light and breathable (except the organic wool jacket). The fibers are grown with no pesticides and in good environmental conditions.
Since we purchase antique and vintage fabrics and notions, we promise that your dog’s outfit will be completely unique. Sometimes we only get half a yard of some very special fabric. Each piece is reversible and made with several different fabrics and designs. Each side has a different idea and inspiration in mind. For example, one side could be floral with a lot of patches and buttons while the other side could have a man’s tie with several types of plaid mixed together.
We go to numerous antique fairs and antique stores and also have two sources from whom we buy wholesale antique textiles and notions. We make sure the fabrics were made during or before the 1950’s. All the textiles grown before this time period were grown without pesticides; that’s what makes most of our garments sustainable.
Priscilla Barroso and Emma Kate, founders and owners of Green Dog Designs, design each garment in their San Francisco Studio. After the designs are created, two San Francisco Bay area seamstresses sew the garments. All construction is done locally; all products are made in the U.S.A.
We are proud to introduce our African Connection line, produced by the Mashiah Foundation. The Mashiah Foundation reaches out to women and children infected with or affected by AIDS/HIV in Nigeria. The mission of Green Dog Designs is to give people the opportunity to support this deserving organization. The line will feature sustainable fabrics made by the Mashiah Foundation women and designs developed by Emma Kate and fellow Green Dog Designs co-founder Priscilla Barroso. A portion of the proceeds from the African Connection line will go towards improving the daily lives of the Nigerian women through the purchase of medicine, food and supplies.
We welcome exchanges and understand that every dog is different. If you have any fitting concerns, please feel free to exchange your piece for another size. Please remember that each item is one-of-a-kind and there are no duplicates. We are a small business, so please provide payment for the shipping to and from San Francisco in accordance with the fairest shipping rate. Sorry, no refunds. We encourage you to measure your dog ahead of time to prevent major fitting issues.

Our products are made from rare, original, and antique materials. We hope you will treat these pieces as works of art. The buttons are all vintage; consideration for the past can be very delicate at times. Please understand we cannot be responsible for the loss of buttons due to animal behavior or appetite. Sustainability with vintage fabrics and notions can result in wear that is ancient, beautiful and intentional.
